Everything takes two hours
You would think watching a two hour movie in a language you don’t really know would leave you clueless as to what it was about, but with a movie as predictable as Kamui, it’s actually no problem at all.
Despite being so predictable (or maybe thanks to it in this case…?) I really enjoyed the movie. The shots were beautiful, the fights were awesome and the blood was all over the place.
After the movie me and Chie took a stroll in Shibuya and found a place to eat yakiniku. Best food I have eaten since I got here. I got a slight stab in my heart when I thought of not being able to get this dish back in Malmö. This is the most social dish I have ever encountered (Possibly matched by tacos. Possibly). It’s like a luxury version of fondue. It’s what fondue should be.
We were brought tender little slices of meat that we grilled over a beautiful grill in the middle of the table. It was absolutely delicious. After we had grilled half the items, they came and changed the grate to a new spotless one. Fair enough, I mean I could almost see some spots of fat where we had grilled the other pieces of absolutely breathtakingly delicious meat.
After what must have been the meat of angels, we ordered in some noodles to top it off. “just a small one” I said and they nodded and I got the small one. Only the small one was a feast in itself. Not just by size, it was absolutely fantastic. It was really spicy, and I don’t normally go for spicy, but this was incredible.
In the end I had to leave more than half of it, and I felt so bad about it. Firstly because I felt like I was insulting this amazing chef, and secondly because I knew I will never be able to find anything like this back home. And my heart bleeds for it.
Chie had cold noodles. They were nice, but it took me by surprise. Serving cold noodles is just not something I ever expected.
And for dessert… gum. Really? Dessert gum? That’s… ok, sure, why not.
I get hungry again just thinking about that place. I wonder if they do international delivery…
